ZHS is having an Orientation for 8th grade students that may be interested in

taking Dual Enrollment classes next year. It will be November 19

from 6:30-7:30 in the commons.

We are excited to announce the success of our student athletes first

quarter! Cyclones Student Athletes achieve excellence in the classroom

and on the field/court!

Cheerleading – 3.59 (3 quarter average will be used for award)

Football – 3.39 (1st Place)

7th Grade Volleyball – 3.50

8th Grade Volleyball – 3.81 (1st Place)

Overall – 3.57

Take Stock in Children Scholarships

Take Stock in Children Scholarships

Take Stock in Children Scholarship applications are now available.

These scholarships are available for 8th grade students.

Your child may be eligible for a wonderful opportunity – a Take Stock in Children College Scholarship. Take Stock in Children is a program that helps students from economically disadvantaged families achieves the goal of going to college. Awarded to Pasco County’s undergraduates, the scholar’s progress is continuously monitored through college. To be considered for this scholarship opportunity (up to four years tuition paid), your child must meet the income eligibility requirements (listed on other side), agree to remain crime & drug free, and get good grades with good attendance. Up to two school reference forms are required found in the application. A mentor is provided as part of this scholarship.

If your child qualifies and you would like to receive an application please complete the bottom portion of this form. Return to your child’s School Counselor. You will be given an application that will be reviewed by the Take Stock in Children Selection Committee. Semi-finalists will be contacted for an interview. Scholarship winners only will be notified late March, 2015 via mail. Completed applications must be returned to your child’s School Counselor no later than December 1st, 2014.

Scholarship opportunities available are: (all scholarships require student to qualify for free/reduced lunch)

  • Take Stock in Children – 8th       graders only (minimum 2.5 GPA)

  • ChairScholars – 8th through       11th graders who have a documented physical disability or certain chronic diseases (minimum 2.5 GPA)
